IT ALL STARTED IN 2018…
I didn’t always know fitness was where I was supposed to be.
After graduating with my degree in Marketing in 2016, I soon realized it was NOT for me. After years of being active in sports and life, I took a mini break when I went to college. Post-college though, I reignited my love for training and immediately knew I wanted to help others do the same. After meeting fellow fit-pros in 2018, I took the leap and went for my personal training certification. I worked my booty off on the gym floor while coaching group exercise classes and building up my coaching business. After dividing myself up into a million pieces to meet all the demands, I found that my true passion lied somewhere between the online and in-person space, working with individuals…
I sat on my deck in the midsts of a pandemic… we all know the one.
While watching the world screech to a halt, I contemplated what I would end up doing. Studios and gyms were off the table for the foreseeable future and I 5000% knew I wasn’t going back to corporate America. So, I impulsively applied for a business coaching course and that’s where my online coaching journey began. Jenna Colkitt Fitness had officially morphed into an online business. Through working with clients over the years, I’ve come to realize my coaching strengths lie in helping people grow muscle, get stronger, increase power output, and feel more like an athlete in life. That’s why one-on-one coaching and customized programming are at the core of JCF. They’re for individuals who want to increase their capacity and ability to take on activity and adventure… and so that’s what you’ll find me coaching today. I absolutely love working in person with clients, but know I can have a greater impact by offering my skills online, and that’s what I aim to do here.

When I’m not coaching in-person or virtual sessions, writing programs or workin’ behind my MacBook Pro, you can find me playing with my sable coated German Shepherd, Finley. She’s a sucker for fetch and who am I to deny her? Outside of Finley you can find me searching on Zillow for beach houses because I have a strong need for the ocean and will live by it one day. Or, I’m scouring the Internet planning my next trip abroad. My Top Picks: Germany & Italy. I mean, I’m 75% Italian so that one tracks and as far as Germany’s concerned that’s where my husband Matt and I first met in 2015. If I can’t get to one of those countries though, I make it a point to travel somewhere at least once a year because adventure is a key ingredient in this life.

It’s hard to narrow down who exactly I am and what I do in ONE word…
I wear many hats, but more importantly I am more than what I do… (same as you, I’m sure). The idea of being confined to someone else’s idea of who I am based on what I do is just not it. So, below are the many hats I wear… each make up a part of who I am.
Jenna
First and foremost, I am me. A human, inspired to help other humans make positive impact in their lives through movement.
Dog-Mom
Finley is my child. I don’t think there is much more to say than that. I love her with all my being.
CEO
The first couple years of my business I did not believe this to be a fact. Now that I’ve embraced it we’re making gains… figuratively and literally.
Functional Strength Coach
The butter to my bread. The day I realized my expertise was in the strength sector of fitness everything fell into place.
Educator
They say knowledge is power. Whether that’s in life, fitness, health, etc. I always aim to learn. I will never stop educating myself and sharing that knowledge with others.
Adventurer
Getting outside and exploring what the world has to offer is what gives me life. It could be exploring my neighborhood or another country, but staying curious of what’s around me is fundamental.
